1.- The Gijón Cultural Society declares open the THIRD CONTEST “Hestories D´Avientu”, with the purpouse of making unknown talented artists, interested in the comic book and graphic novel creation, to come out to the light.
2.- Any human being can participate, (we´ll see about different life forms), regardless of nationality or age, individually or into a collective. The number of works presented by each contestant or group of contestants is 1.
3.- The works are expected to be original, regarding to the script and the characters used, and self-conclusives. With the purpouse to ease the creative intellect of the contestants, there are not any requeriments about the minimum number of pages, but there is a maximun limit of 96. The script can be written in the language of any country and in Asturian.
4.- All kind of thematical genres are accepted, as are accepted any creative technique, (traditional or digital). If you wish, you can send us your work to the contest by e-mail, but if you do so, please contact us before, just to make sure we can manage your mail package properly.
5.- In the backside of every page must appear: 1) Títle of the work; 2) Page number; 3) Author´s name or nickname; 4) Age; 5) Address, phone number and e-mail.
6.- Original draws will not be accepted, you should send only a copy, given the fact that the organization won´t send them back. Works, should be send to:

clearly shown in the envelope.
7.- The admission of works will be open untill November, 11th, 2010 (included).
8.- Works awarded in other contests, or already published in professional or amateur media will be rejected.
9.- The contest, will be ruled by a 7 members jury, who will be responsible for choosing the winner.
10.- The jury´s decission, will become public on December, 17th, 2010, in local newspapers, comic book stores along the country and into the contestant´s hometown and of course, into our web page.
11.- There will be a 500 € prize to the winner and two special commendations to the 2nd and 3rd ranked contestants, who will be able to see their works published in a limited edition paid by the Gijón Cultural Society.
12.-It is understood that, by taking part in the contest, or by getting awarded the prize, the authors or collectives do not lose their rights of explotation or intellectual property of the presented works, but it is also understood that they give the Gijón Cultural Society, free reign to make use of the works with non commercial purpouses.
13.- The jury, is declared competent to solve any circumstance resulting from the misinterpretation of the rules. Once taken, their decission will be final and will not be put to the question. The jury may declare the prize/s vacant.
14.- By taking part in the contest, it is understood that the authors or collectives acknowledge and accept this set of rules.
